2025 – 2026 Student Board of Directors Application Process

In coordination with Oklahoma State University Ferguson College of Agriculture

MISSION

To provide opportunities to those students wishing to gain leadership skills by participating in an academic/corporate agricultural finance experience. This includes exposure to the function of a board of directors and the development of decision-making skills related to an agricultural cooperative.

ABOUT OKLAHOMA AGCREDIT

Farm Credit was chartered in 1916, as part of a nation-wide cooperative to supply financing for full- and part-time farmers.  Oklahoma AgCredit is part of the national Farm Credit System, which extends to all fifty states and Puerto Rico.  The Agricultural Credit Association (ACA) is a “holding company” for the Federal Land Credit Association (FLCA) and the Production Credit Association (PCA).  The FLCA provides long-term credit for farm and ranch real estate and rural home loans.  The PCA provides short- and intermediate-term operating, equipment, and livestock loans.  Oklahoma AgCredit is chartered to provide agricultural credit products to operators in 60 of the 77 counties in Oklahoma.  The association has a board of directors mostly elected by borrowers/stockholders. In addition, by-laws require at least two appointed directors.  The board of directors is a 12-member board.

PROGRAM INFORMATION

Monthly Meetings:  Scheduled October 2025 – April 2026 and will be held at our Stillwater Branch Office.  Meeting dates/times will be set based on students’ schedules.  Meetings will last approximately one hour and may consist of a short presentation by Oklahoma AgCredit staff and/or special guests. A project will be assigned by Oklahoma AgCredit and presented by the Student Board in April to the Oklahoma AgCredit Board of Directors.  The project may require time spent outside the monthly meetings in order to prepare for the presentation.

Honorarium Paid:  $60/meeting honorarium will be paid via ACH to each student pending meeting attendance.

ELIGIBILITY AND SELECTION

OSU Ferguson College of Agricultural students who are enrolled in their sophomore, junior or senior year are eligible for this program.  It is a desire of the Association that the student directors have a farm background and plan to maintain their agricultural involvement upon graduation.  Directors may serve consecutive years by reapplying for a position.  Students are eligible to continue on the board after graduation only if pursuing a graduate degree at OSU. A director is eligible to serve a maximum of four years.  This program is publicized through OSU newsletters, student advisors and class visits. Students will be notified via email whether or not they are selected to serve on the board.

Important note: We care about your hiring process and take it seriously. A real person will review your application, meaning response timelines may vary. The interviewing process at Oklahoma AgCredit may include emails, texts, phone calls, and on-site interviews. We cannot personally follow-up with each applicant, and we will do our best to create a professional, respectful, and thorough process for candidates with whom we identify as a potential fit.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability
Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026
Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
